Hurricaine Spray, Benzocaine



COMPOSITION
Each 100 ml. contains:
Benzocaine 20%.
Excipients: Saccharin, Polyethylenglycol, Cherry aroma.

ACTIVITY
HURRICAINE Spray, Benzocaine is a local anaesthetic solution used to relieve pain when it is applied externally to the oral mucosa.

INDICATIONS
Local, temporary and symptomatic relief of molar, tooth and gum discomfort or pain and discomfort of the mucosa of the mouth caused by the rubbing of dental prosthesis and dental extractions, until you can be attended by a specialist.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to benzocaine or any other local anaesthetic or any other ingredient in this medication. Do not administer to children of less than 2 years of age.

PRECAUTIONS
Only apply this product to teeth, molars, gums or oral mucosa. If symptoms get worse or pain persists more than 7 days of treatment, you must interrupt treatment and your doctor should be consulted before you continue to use this product. Do not inhale or swallow. Avoid spraying into the eyes. Avoid applying this medication to the throat because its anaesthetic effect may interfere with the deglutition process (swallowing food and fluids). Do not chew food or chewing gum within one hour of the application of this medication or as long as the anaesthetic effect lasts due to the risk of biting your tongue or buccal mucous membrane.

INTERACTIONS
This medication should not be used in patients being treated with sulphonamides, nor cholinesterase inhibitors. If you are taking or using any other medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Interactions with diagnostic tests
Before undergoing any diagnostic test inform your doctor that you are using this medication.

WARNINGS
Pregnancy and lactation
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before you start to use this medication.

Use in children
This preparation is contraindicated in children of less than 2 years of age. The dosage should be reduced in children of 2 to 6 years of age. This preparation should be applied following the instructions for the correct administration of this medication.

Effects on ability to drive and use machines
Hurricaine Spray is not known to impair the ability to drive or use machines.

Sportspersons
Sportspersons are informed that this medication contains an ingredient which may give a positive result in a doping control test.

POSOLOGY
This product should only be applied to teeth, molars, gums or oral mucosa.
Dental and gingival use.
Do not apply this medication more often than recommended by your doctor. This product should not be administered for more than 7 consecutive days.

Adults and children over 6 years of age
Apply the product up to 4 times per day following the instructions for the correct administration of this medication.

Children aged 2 to 6 years
The dosage should be reduced in children of 2 to 6 years of age.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CORRECT ADMINISTRATION OF THE PREPARATION
Only apply to teeth, molars and gums.
Remove the cover from the top of the bottle and place the application tube in the valve. The preparation can be applied either directly by pressing the valve for half a second towards the painful area or soaking some cotton by spraying the product a few times and applying the cotton to painful area for a moment.

OVERDOSE
In the case of an overdose or accidental ingestion, go to the closest medical centre or contact your local poison control.

ADVERSE EFFECTS
Burning buccal sensation or allergic reactions such as skin rash may occur. In these cases treatment should be suspended and you should consult your doctor. If you notice these or any other reactions not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

EXPIRY
This medication should not be used after the expiry date indicated on the pack.
