PROPERTIES
Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic active against a wide variety of gram-positive and gram-negative pathogenic bacteria. Dexamethasone is a potent corticosteroid with antiallergic, antiexudative, and antiproliferative properties, which inhibits the inflammatory response caused by agents of immunological, mechanical or chemical nature. Tetryzoline is a sympathomimetic vasoconstricting agent. The bactericidal action of the antibiotic in this product is combined with an anti-inflammatory and vasoconstricting effect.
INDICATIONS - In Ophthalmology:
Topical treatment of infections of the anterior pole of the eye with inflammatory complications caused by organisms sensitive to gentamicin. Infectious and allergic conjunctivitis and blepharoconjunctivitis. Keratitis (superficial, deep, phlyctenular, sclerosing, acne rosacea). Scleritis and episcleritis.
In ENT:
It has application in infections of the ear, such as otitis externa and in all conditions where a corticosteroid-antibiotic therapy is indicated.
